Lo que te va a encantar en esta casa
Our peaceful, secluded home on the north side of Cape Cod features a striking view over the marshes and channels of upper Barnstable Harbor to the dunes of Sandy Neck. We have recently put a HotSprings hot tub off of the back deck for relaxation and star gazing! We travel frequently and have left our availability options open; so feel free to tempt us with an inquiry!
We are located on a well-treed acre, set back from a quiet cul-de-sac in the Old King’s Highway Historic District in peaceful West Barnstable. The 2400 square foot, architect-designed house is very charming and comfortable, with lots of living space on two floors, and windows everywhere. Our home is an "upside-down house," with master bedroom, bath, and great room with kitchen, dining room, living room, sunny "porchette," and a large screened porch on the second floor. The first floor has 4 bedrooms, bathroom, living room, and sun room, as well as a large front hall and closet. We have two desks for work and high speed internet.
The yard is great for recreating, including soaking in the hot tub, reading in the hammock, playing lawn games, grilling a meal on the back deck, lounging in the sun, etc. There is a tiny playhouse, with sleeping for one, with wrap around deck among the trees in the side yard. We have a south facing "porchette" above the front entry porch, which is great for morning coffee. We have recently added a hot tub off the back deck. The view out the second floor picture window of trees, marsh, harbor, dunes, bay, and sky is mesmerizing and peace-inspiring, with constant variety depending on the tide, light, and season. When the leaves fall off the trees, the view is spectacular, and the house is very cozy, particularly when the wood burning stove in the living room is ablaze. We love watching the local birds who flock to our 2nd floor birdfeeders.
The living room, dining room, and kitchen form a “great room” with a cathedral ceiling lit from above by a ventilating cupola. A master suite and three other bedrooms sleep eight, with four queen sized beds and two single beds. There are two baths and a secluded outdoor shower. Many windows and careful layout contribute to excellent cross-ventilation in the summer, as well as central AC when needed; a gas furnace and storm windows, as well as a woodburning stove, provide warmth in cooler weather. We have two smart TVs and wireless internet, as well as Alexa and a CD player. A sunroom, den, screened porch, deck and cute "playhouse" (with electricity and single bed) provide additional indoor and outdoor living areas. We have a large selection of games and puzzles for both children and adults, as well as a pingpong table in the basement. Since the house is down a long driveway at the end of a cul-de-sac, it is very safe for small children. Kayaks, canoe, and bikes (as well as our plus-in hybrid Hyundai) may be available upon request.
The atmosphere of peace and serenity at our property is enhanced by the magical, ever changing view of forest, marsh, harbor, dunes and bay. You will feel surrounded by quiet and natural beauty. That being said, we are within a ten minute drive of "civilization" (shops, restaurants, art galleries, movie theaters, etc.)

Lo que te va a encantar del barrio
Cape Cod is a well-known resort island in Massachusetts with many lovely beaches, ponds, charming towns, and scenic byways. It is connected to the mainland by bridges, with Boston and Providence about 1 and 1/2 hours away, New York City is 4 hours away, and other scenic destinations in northern New England (Western Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont) are an easy drive. The islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are easily accessible by ferry.
From Barnstable's central location, all of Cape Cod is within easy reach—from Woods Hole to the Cape Cod National Seashore. We are located right off of scenic and historic Rte. 6A which wends its way all along the north shore of Cape Cod, terminating in Provincetown. Along this leisurely and beautiful road you will find many wonderful public beaches and ponds, charming small towns, embarkation points for whale watching and charter fishing, and restaurants, ice cream shops, antique and craft shops, art galleries galore. The south side of Cape Cod has its own charm, with many quaint towns, beaches, etc. to explore.
There is a convenient bus stop within a mile of the house, providing quick and easy transportation to nearby Boston and Providence, which both have major airports. We also have a newly renovated YMCA within a mile, which offers short term memberships for fitness and swimming, as well as reciprocity with other YMCAs. The main tourist/shopping town, Hyannis, and ferry connections to the islands of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard are about 4 miles away. Local shopping, art galleries and restaurants are very convenient and plentiful.
