Was Sie an dieser Unterkunft lieben werden
Built in 1907 and recently renovated, our light-filled home is a unique blend of historic and modern.
The downstairs has a graceful sense of flow, dining room to kitchen to living room. Off the living room you’ll find the music room with piano and other instruments. This room can easily be converted to another guest room with a fold-down double bed and artful doors to separate the room from the rest of the downstairs.
We have raised our family in this home, and as such is it fully stocked—from every kitchen amenity you could want to more games than you and your family could play in a year!
The kitchen is particularly prized by guests. We keep it stocked with everything you need from serving platters to stem ware to a pasta machine to a sno-cone machine. The space is designed for filling with voices and music, it makes even a casual family gathering feel like a party.
Upstairs you’ll find three bedrooms (two with queen beds and one with a double bed; a pack-and-play can be provided on request), bathroom with shower/cast iron tub for retaining water's heat, laundry room, and an art room/library/den.
Outside there is both a wraparound porch with chairs and a table to enjoy the afternoon, as well as a stone patio in the back with furniture and an authentic Italian wood-burning grill. Grapevines separate the house from the alley that was once used to deliver coal and ice to Belmont homes. There is also a garden with a rotating selection of herbs and fruit and flowers and vegetables, a fire pit, and s'mores fixings. We love being outside playing corn hole in the yard or gathering for morning coffee or evening cocktail, and think you will, too.
Inside, the house is filled with books, art, and everything you need to feel cozy and taken care of. There's a big screen TV, a piano, a record player with shelves of records, a fireplace, puzzles and games, and spaces for gathering as well as spaces for quiet reflection.

Was Sie im Nachbarschafts-Viertel lieben werden
Our neighborhood is a gem in Charlottesville. Belmont has it's own downtown district, with some of the city's best restaurants, including Mas and Tavola and Lampo. There is also a bakery with swoon-worthy doughnuts and fabulous bread. Plus there's a New Orleans inspired restaurant with a wraparound porch and tables under the trees, perfect for a cocktail before dinner.
Just a few blocks in the other direction you'll find IX Art Park with its Saturday farmers' market (look for the wild mushrooms and the bevy of fresh greens and city's best tacos!), a brewery with great burgers, a sake restaurant with excellent ramen, and more!
What makes Belmont unique is not only does it have it's own downtown, it is steps away from Charlottesville's prized pedestrian downtown mall, with restaurants, theater, art galleries, a grand library, bookstores, and boutiques.
I love walking downtown, but I also love walking further—to Charlottesville's midtown for its specialized grocers or fabric arts collective, or even to UVA, which is just a half hour stroll, lined with fun shops and community history.
Honestly, I rarely get in my car. But when I do, parking in Belmont couldn't be more convenient. It is easy to hop in the car and drive three minutes to great hiking and walking trails or further for a morning hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains followed by lunch at a brewery in Waynseboro.
We've lived here for twenty years and have created a comprehensive guide to share with you, so that you can feel at once totally at home and also excited about the advantages outside your door.
