What you will love about this home
Our beautiful home is family friendly with an adventure background. We live 15-20min walk from the town centre and the most beautiful beaches. The Port Macquarie koala hospital is only a 5min walk away. It is a great place to unwind, enjoy nature, explore the area and play with our chickens ;)

We have three bedrooms in the main house and the old shed was renovated to a beautiful guestroom which we often rent out. It has its own bathroom with composting toilet, own entrance too, great as a teenage retreat. This room has a queen bed. The house is being renovated as we go. The kitchen is brand new and so is the bathroom. We recently insulated all the exterior walls and recladded the house. Solar panels are on the new roof too. So there's always a project on the go.

We love our garden and have lots of organic food growing! Make sure you harvest whatever is in season when you are here. Depending how long you stay, we may ask you to water the garden. We also have very friendly chickens, a great source of eggs daily.

We do not want to exchange with smokers we are very sensitive to smell!

What you will love in the neighborhood
Our neighbourhood is friendly and quiet. We are close to everything! The street is wide so there's plenty of parking on the street and on the driveway. We haven't set up the driveway or a carport yet...it's in the plans!

There are a few elderly neighbours and families, so there are often people at home if you need assistance with anything.

Additional information
Port Macquarie is a common holiday town for people living in bigger cities. We love living in a holiday town and sharing our home with others. We do not have a TV, we prefer reading a book, or spending time together, exercising, playing games and enjoying the great outdoors.

Our corridor has a monkey bar and a climbing wall for children and adults alike! We have a pole, a climbing rope and/or silks in the living room. Plenty to do in and out of the house.

Our laundry had to be moved downstairs. The space for the laundry inside was too small for today's washing machines! We have a dryer which we hardly use and we ask you to only use it if you absolutely must (i.e. rain for a week and no clothes left!). The sun is our best dryer and there's plenty of drying rack space in the garden.

We are very sensitive to smoke so smokers are not welcome, sorry!

This is our home, so it won't be pristine and it wont be perfect. It's comfortable and has everything we need (hopefully what you need too!). We always clean the house thoroughly before an exchange but please do no expect a hotel apartment.

We kindly ask you to be upfront on who will be coming and staying. Please no parties and respect our home as you would yours.

What you will love about this home
**WE ARE HAPPY TO BE CONTACTED ANYTIME FOR A RECIPROCAL EXCHANGE**

OUR HOUSE - is a 2 storey terrace house, Architect designed in a coastal town near Geelong Victoria. The style is open plan, Scandi industrial, with a very unique look and a Zen feel. We have a large balcony, with a 6 seater dining table, which overlooks Corio Bay and the You Yangs mountains behind. Our breathtaking views are all enhanced by the floor to ceiling windows throughout the house.

GROUND FLOOR - We have polished concrete floors with carpet in all 3 bedrooms. Master bedroom has a King bed , Large ensuite with double walk in shower and 2 sinks, heated towel rail, Bidet toilet. Large walk in closet also with a mini fridge in this area.
Second bedroom has a Queen bed and a wardrobe.
The third bedroom has a couch/pull out divan, so can accomodate 2 more people or be used as a quiet place. Currently it is set up as a fabulous toy room (educational toys, Dolls house & many books)
Two bathrooms on the ground level, both have heated lighting, are very spacious, have flick taps and hair dryers. There is seperate toilet & laundry too.

1ST FLOOR - Kitchen, dining room and lounge, all in an open plan format. Flooring is Tasmanian Oak. Home office with a Seperate toilet/powder room. Large balcony for dining, coffee, reading or just staring at the ocean. Gas bbq on balcony with plumbed in gas, which we use about ten months of the year. We have solar panels and a gas log fire that efficiently heats the top floor in minutes.
Our kitchen contains a 900 ml oven, microwave, coffee pod machine or French press, filter tap, dishwasher and the best view while washing the dishes!!

OUR STYLE - Our art collection is mostly from our travels around India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Bali and some local Artists too. Lounge furniture is leather, with 1 x 2 seater couch and 1 x 2.5 seater couch, and 1 single recliner (lift chair)

WHAT MAKES LIVING IN OUR HOME GREAT - We have high speed internet, cable TV, Netflix and a home office, with usage available on our Mac, in case you wanted to do some work remotely. We have several charging stations around our home for Apple products, like iPhones, iPads & watches.

We have available various baby items, like a portable cot & a baby gate. Our car is fitted with a baby seat that caters for a 12 month old to 5 years.

Our cleaner is available during your stay, if you are wanting to hire her for a longer stay. We do not charge a cleaning fee with our home, we only ask guests to place used bedding and towels in the laundry on leaving day.

We have available our car, if required, which is a Lexus 2015 Hybrid SUV Automatic. (Drivers must be over 25)

OTHER FUN FACTS - We are surrounded by about 8 Golf clubs, 3 of which are less than 5 minutes drive away (All tried and tested by my husband)

Melbourne International airport is 1.5 hours from here. We also have Avalon airport 40 minutes away, where you can take a commercial airline to either Sydney (NSW) The Gold Coast (QLD) or Noosa (QLD)

Melbourne city can be reached by car, train, Geelong passenger ferry or the Portarlington ferry.

We are a non smoking home however we have a lovely back garden or a balcony where you can do this.

Our garden is very low maintenance, planted with indigenous coastal plants, and we have no lawn to mow. Only watering required if staying in summer months.

Our backyard garden is very safe for children and is fully enclosed with secure fences.

We have 2 bikes available for use.

We now have a lift/Elevator, so for anyone with a disability, our place may suit you well. We also have one bathroom set up for a person with a disability, i.e. shower grab rails, adjustable shower height and a shower chair is available. Our lounge has an electric recliner/lift chair. The master bedroom has double doors for ease of entry plus we have an adjustable split king size bed for allowing different sleeping levels to be achieved.

What you will love in the neighborhood
Immediate neighbourhood is quiet with great neighbours. We live on the Bellarine Peninsula, which is a holiday and weekend destination for city people. One side of the bay is very shallow (where I swim) whilst the other is a surf beach.

- Buzzy restaurants: Yes and many of them are coastal
- Cool bars: Many wineries in our area that also serve great food, using local produce, and of course great views.
- Cozy cafés: Yes
- Retail therapy: Art, surf wear, wine and locally made produce
- Bit of culture: Surf and beachy, several great golf clubs nearby. Geelong yacht club is 25 minutes away.
- Walks in the park: Yes, on various beaches or you may want to play at any of the 4 premier Golf clubs nearby.
- Spot of exercise: Yes, many options available. We have Bellarine rail trail, a walking or bike track. Very popular.
- Day tripping: Endless possibilities. We are 40 minutes away from the start of the ‘Great Ocean road’ drive, a very popular and historic tourist route.

Additional information
We have a dedicated toy/play room for kids, photo shown in our main photos. It contains sensory toys, books, a dolls house, many cars, beginner musical instruments, large pillows, etc. it is suitable for aged 2 upwards. Our grandkids love this space!!

The Avalon Airshow is held every 2 years and is on again in late March 2025. We are 40 minutes drive from this airport. Or you can watch a lot of it from our balcony!! Highly recommend by my family.

A “Cooltation” stay is the new travel buzz word for booking a stay in a cold climate. Winter in Victoria has an average 13 degree days and 4-8 degrees at night, so not as cold as some countries.
