Was Sie an dieser Unterkunft lieben werden

Our bungalow has been refurbished to a high standard and is very comfortable. It's a 10 minute walk from town and in a quiet cul de sac with pleasant neighbours. We love our kitchen diner, which has a deck off it with nice views that allows al fresco dining in warmer weather, Our lounge is very sunny, and has comfortable seating and a large smart TV that usually has access to the BBC and many other free channels plus the streaming services of Amazon Prime, Apple+ and Disney+. It may also be possible to access Netflix. Both bedrooms are sunny in the morning. One has connected twin beds with high quality anti-allergy latex mattresses and an en suite shower with dressing area. The other is especially sunny and has a luxury Vispring king bed. It is adjacent to the house bathroom. Our son runs a luxury bedding company so there is a choice of top quality cotton or linen bedding. There is also a third bedroom/study which doesn't have a bed but could be fitted with a high quality sleeping mat.

Was Sie im Nachbarschafts-Viertel lieben werden

Stroud is a lively Cotswold town set in beautiful countryside and accessible to many great destinations by bus, car or train. (The train station is 15 minutes walk through town). It is very well connected to Heathrow, via a 40-50 minute RailAir bus to Reading and an hour's train journey to Stroud. In 2021 the town was selected by The Sunday Times as the Best Place to Live in England. It has a vibrant arts, crafts and music scene, one of the largest Farmer’s Markets in the UK and many independent shops and cafes as well as all the main supermarkets, including Waitrose (a gourmet store roughly equivalent to Trader Joe’s or Wholefoods Market). There's a nice park and museum and it's a great hiking spot, with several beautiful walks from our door (including the delightful Stroudwater Canal towpath), and many others within a short drive or bus trip. And, walk or drive, there are lots of delightful country pubs to eat and drink at. For example, the Woolpack in the nearby Slad Valley which was immortalised in local writer Laurie Lee’s ‘Cider with Rosie’ novel. Equestrians will also find many riding opportunities, and could attend the Cheltenham racecourse, Badminton Horse Trials (on Princess Anne’s estate) or watch polo at Cirencester. Other nearby destinations include:
Painswick - a beautiful Cotswold stone village with a renowned church - surrounded by Britain’s largest collection of yew topiary - and a well reviewed gastro pub, the Falcon Inn. An hour’s walk or short drive/bus journey.
Cheltenham - a Regency spa town with great shops, world class Book and Music Festivals and one of Britain’s premier racecourses. 20 minute drive or regular bus/train service.
Gloucester - one of England’s most historic towns, with a wonderful cathedral and a lively restored docks area. 20 minute drive or regular bus/train service.
Cirencester - a beautiful and lively town, with one of Britain’s best Roman museums.
Tetbury - another historic town, and near to Highgrove, personal home of King Charles, whose gardens are open to the public and which also has a gift shop in town.
Drive for 60-90 minutes (or, in most cases, train is also an alternative) and you can explore regency Bath; Bristol (one of England most historic and interesting cities); the scenic Forest of Dean and Wye Valley; Oxford (which has great museums as well as the historic University; Shakespeare’s Stratford-on-Avon; and many historic sites such as Berkeley Castle, Stonehenge, Warwick Castle and numerous National Trust properties. Finally, a 90 minute train ride from Stroud has you in London’s Paddington station.
