Was Sie an dieser Unterkunft lieben werden
Casa Minorca a charming vintage-style village house nestled in the typical Portuguese village of Maiorca. This four-bedroom retreat offers an idyllic escape for those seeking a blend of tranquility and a nostalgia for a much slower pace of life.
Step inside to discover a thoughfully restored interior that exudes character and warmth. The house is a fusion of vintage charm and modern amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay while preserving the allure of a bygone era.
The spacious interior features restored and upcycled furnishings, complemented by vintage décor pieces. Large windows bathe the space in natural light, offering a sunny and welcoming retreat from busy city life.
On the lower level of the house, there is a sunny living room equipped with a wireless sound system, as well as a record player. There is also a small bar area.
The large dining room also has a coffee/tea bar and espresso machine. This connects to a well-equipped kitchen, internal patio, storage room, separate laundry and a guest toilet.
Upstairs, each of the four spacious and sunny bedrooms has its own ensuite bathroom. The largest of the four rooms has a full family bathroom with a bathtub.
Everything you could possibly need is in the house, you only need to bring yourselves and your luggage!
Casa Minorca is also suitable for families.

Was Sie im Nachbarschafts-Viertel lieben werden
Located 12kms from the expansive beaches of Figueira da Foz and 7km from the 800 year old castle that overlooks Montemor-o-Velho, Casa Minorca offers a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city streets, but still with good proximity to everything that you could need.
Maiorca is a very peaceful and safe little village near the mighty Mondego River in the Coimbra region of central Portugal. There are no barking dogs, crowing roosters, traffic noise or rowdy revellers (unless there is a 'festa'). Be aware that you will hear the village clock chiming, but you will get used to it very quickly! In summer it is surrounded by lush green rice paddies, and there is also a small river beach a few kms from the house.
The village has a small grocer and a cafe a minute's walk from Casa Minorca, a pharmacy and post office across the street, a BBQ chicken restaurant that operates on weekends, and another small grocery store out on the main road. The local grocer is very well stocked with all the basic items, plus some fruit/vegetables, cheeses, meats, wines and bread.

Zusätzliche Informationen
My house is registered with the local authorities as a 'Alojamento Local', which means that it meets certain standards for short-term stays.
There is a one week minimum stay, and I have the house cleaned and all towels and linens professionally laundered after each stay, so there will be a €50 cleaning fee and a laundry fee of €10 per person.
Like many villages in Portugal, Maiorca is not well served by public transport. It is possible to reach the village by public bus from Figuera da Foz, on a bus that runs from the train station to Montemor-O-Velho, via Maiorca. However, the local buses don't run very frequently, especially on weekends and public holidays. Your options for travel in the local area will be quite limited without a car.
For electric cars, there are chargers (including super chargers) about 7km from Maiorca, in Montemor-O-Velho. They are usually available without need to wait.
As Casa Minorca is a typical village house, it does not have any dedicated parking. However the village is small and it is easy to park out on a nearby street.
Please be aware that the house has two floors and a staircase leading upstairs to the bedrooms, therefore it's not suitable for people with limited mobility.
Maiorca is easily accessed from the highway (A17/A14), and is located 110 mins drive from Lisbon and 90 mins from Porto. The nearest city is Coimbra (30 mins drive), with it's charming and well-preserved medieval town and the beautiful historic University of Coimbra.
The nearest large grocery stores such as Intermarche & Lidl, and other amenities, are located in Montemor-O-Velho, which is a 10 min drive from Maiorca.
