Was Sie an dieser Unterkunft lieben werden
Our house is built in the colonial style and despite being surrounded by tall pine trees, gets pretty good light on at least one side of the house year round. Located 2 miles from UNC main campus and close to the bus line that heads straight to campus. We love to be comfortable in our house, and we know you will be too.
Our favorite room in the spring, summer, and fall is the screened in porch. It has a metal roof, making thunderstorms that much more epic. I love to watch the trees sway during a storm. On the porch there is a hook for a hanging chair, or a sensory swing (we have both). There is also a table and four chairs.
We discover new wildlife (not too wild!) daily. Sometimes at night I'll see a tree frog on the outside of the kitchen window, waiting for bugs to come towards the light so it can catch dinner. We also frequently see hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and many other native Carolina birds out the windows.
The neighborhood is wonderful for night walks, listen to the chorus of insects and frogs. If you're quiet and alert, you may just spot a fox or a barred owl. Walking in the garden you may spy a praying mantis, helping us keep the insect population in check.

We are located on a cul de sac that connects with two other cul de sacs, so there is very little traffic.
There are a lot of families down the street who like to play outside. This is a great neighborhood for kids, and the neighbors are very friendly! A serene paradise, and a lovely area to walk and bike.

Please note - we have two indoor cats who are very sweet and friendly that live in the house. They are fed twice a day and there are two litter boxes that need to be cleaned every or every other day.
For what it’s worth- my husband has bad cat allergies and I have mild allergies to cats- these cats do not trigger our allergies at all. We keep the house clean and they shed very little. They are also great with kids.
House has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms
Downstairs:
-One bathroom
-Kitchen - fully stocked, including full coffee setup with grinder, pour over carafe, french press, ceramic pour over, and electric kettle. I cook a lot, so just about anything you could possibly need is here for you to use
-Breakfast nook has table and 4 chairs
-Play room stocked with kids desk, toys, art supplies, nugget, books
-Daybed in the playroom is long enough to sleep on (and comfortable!). The room has blinds on all the windows
-Living room has large TV for streaming
-Dining room has large table that can accommodate 8 - 10
-Deck with round table, 4 chairs, umbrella
-Screened in porch with round table, 4 chairs, hanging chair
-Laundry: washer & dryer, there is also a drying rack
Upstairs:
4 Bedrooms & 2 full baths
-Master Bedroom has king bed and private bath with tub/shower, blackout curtains
-Guest room has queen bed and blackout curtains. There is also a designated work desk. There is workout equipment stored in this room - two yoga mats, weights, resistance bands
-Kids room has twin bed, desk, and blackout curtains
-Office room - designated office but a queen air mattress or nugget can be added to use as a bedroom
-Guest bath has twin sinks and tub/shower
-There is a Nugget play couch that can comfortably sleep a kid or average size adult that can be moved to any room
-All bedrooms, bathrooms, and office have curtains/blinds. Blackout curtains specifically where noted (master, guest and kid bedroom)
Available if needed:
-Queen air mattress
-Pack n play/travel crib
-Plenty of extra sheets, blankets, towels
-We have three bikes to offer, one of which is a long tail electric cargo bike that can carry lots of stuff/2/3 kids on the back
-We also have car that we are open to discussion about lending
Other household details
- Free parking in the driveway and street parking. Please try not to park near the mailbox (USPS worker gets grumpy) or across from a neighbor's driveway (makes it hard to get out)
-Indoor plants need to be watered once every 1 or 2 weeks. Outdoor plants need to be watered in the summer if there is less than 1" of rain a week. If you are not interested in watering, my dad, who lives nearby, would be happy to help water outside if that is something you would be comfortable with.
-We have Google Fiber internet. It is FAST
-No smoking, no parties
-We love pets but are currently not accepting additional pets as guests
-Central AC & Heating
A little about the area
- The Chapel Hill Library is close by and is a wonderful resource for books, as well as kid entertainment, great resources for rainy day entertainment
- Pritchard Park - a park in the woods behind the library with bird watching, sandbox, logs to hop on, musical instruments, and more
- The library, CH Farmers Market, and Community Park on Estes are bikeable from the house, as well as a Whole Foods Market, Silverspot Movie Theater, and many restaurants
- We are close to the Chapel Hill Farmers Market, and also Carrboro Farmers Market, Community Park, Umstead Park, and The Exchange Pool (open to public)
- The YMCA is a couple of blocks away. They have a heated pool, childcare while you work out, classes, equipment, all the things
