Was Sie an dieser Unterkunft lieben werden
Our home is located on a rural estate overlooking the stunning Kaipara Harbour in Northland. It gets the most beautiful sunsets and the Milky Way night sky from the spa is amazing.
Upstairs has three bedrooms, an open plan kitchen/living room/dining room, media room (with lots of DVDs) and two bathrooms. Downstairs are a games room with table tennis table and pool table and a studio complete with bedroom and kitchen.
The property is 1.3 hectares (3.5 qcres), edged with bush and thousands of new native plantings since 2019 which are growing well. There is a beach which is a short 5-10 minute walk down a private road. There is also access to a shared tennis court and walks around the estate through woodland, many of which go to the lake and bird reserve.
This is my favourite place in the world to relax and get away from it all. Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and watching the sunset after a dip in the sea is magic. We love to share it as we feel so lucky to have such a place.

Was Sie im Nachbarschafts-Viertel lieben werden
The estate is about 200 hectares with half of it given over to a sheep and beef farm. Visitors are able to access the shared parts of the estate and even to walk on the farm if they are mindful of any livestock. Our place is one of 50 private sections which make up the other half of the estate. There are also some common areas including woodland. There is a shared boat ramp and tennis court and plenty of options for going for a walk without getting in your car. Most of the photographs are taken around the house or on the wider estate and are within walking distance.
It's a 10 minute drive to the local shops and cafes and 30 minutes to the beach and surfing town of Mangawhai which also boasts a beautiful Mangawhai Heads coastal walk ranked one of the best day walks in the North Island https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/northland/places/waipu-area/things-to-do/mangawhai-walkway). Also near Mangawhai are the Tanekaha walks to waterfalls you can swim in https://mangawhaiwalking.co.nz/tanekaha-walks/
We are also about 30 minute from Waipu with its lovely coastal walkway and more golden sand beaches as well as the Waipu caves and the infamous McLeods Pizza Barn which not only does excellent pizza, but also brews its own beers.
Whangarei is about an hour away and makes for a great day trip to the waterfalls, art galleries and walks in Whangarei itself and further on around Whangarei heads.
Also in the area is the Kauri Museum in Dargaville (well worth a visit, - the kids loved it much to our surprise - the reconstructions and wax figures are great.). A great rain day option if you still want to get out.
Te Arai Links is also worth checking out. It is a newly opened, very exclusive golf course. Has a restaurant open to the public and a 2 acre putting green called the Playground also open to the public, next to the restaurant. https://tearai.com/
The house is 85 minutes north of central Auckland, the main international airport in New Zealand, and is a great base for exploring the huge Kauri forests north of Dargaville and other parts of Northland...or simply hanging around, gazing at the view and reading books.
