Large (340 m2/3,700 ft2) fully refurbished house very close to forrest and beach in safe community combined with the excitement and cultural offerings of Aarhus. Seven bedroom house, light and airy, modern minimalist Scandinavian living with (heated) pool and outdoor sauna. The pool is fenced for child safety. Busses leave every 10 min. to go anywhere around the city, though it is also possible to walk, drive and of course bike downtown. (Electric bikes available).
Ground floor:
Luxurious chef's kitchen custom built (2023) with two dishwashers and direct access to large sunny deck with furniture and BBQ. Large living room and dining room with built-in bar. 1 double bedroom and bathroom with shower.
First floor (split level): 1 bedroom and one office
First floor: Master bedroom with balcony and wonderful view of the bay area. Massive king bed (2.4 m), bathroom with shower and bath. Separate toilet. Both completely renovated. Additional large bedroom with balcony and smaller bedroom.
Renovated basement: one double bedroom, gym, laundry room with washer and dryer. Small kitchen and bathroom. Separate toilet. The whole basement was completely remodelled in 2018, underfloor heating everywhere.
We have four children ( Oscar, Lucia, Leo, and Theodor) and this is a wonderful place to visit with kids. We have an abundance of playgrounds and activities for children in the area. But if you are not travelling with children I can put everything away and make the house a proper grown-up-haven. The place is clean and uncluttered. Large enclosed garden (1,000 m2/ 10,800 ft2) with fantastic (heated) pool, outdoor sauna, forrest backdrop, treehouse, fire place, large gas BBQ and in-ground trampoline.
Safe and friendly area, with lots of things to see and do. 1 min walk to the forest (Riis Skov) through which you can walk to beautiful beach, the city center with plenty of shopping possibilities, playgrounds etc. The forest is excellent for jogging or walking and offers wonderful views of the coast.

This is a friendly and safe neighbourhood 2 kilometers from Aarhus city center. Our neighbours are very friendly and everybody speaks English. What is special about where we live is that we are right next to Riis Skov, a beatiful forest/ parc, spectacular in all seasons. A brisk walk through the parc and you will be at the beach or you can also walk or bike to the city. This means that you will have access to wonderful nature, peace, quiet and lots of sports but also have all the amenities of a big city. Restaurants, theater, cinema, casino shopping street, small shopping centre, play grounds all within 3 km radius. Not to miss, a trip to the brand new Dokk1 cultural house and library, lots of things to see and do, beautiful building, even the parking garage is a spectacle.
The city of Aarhus is the second largest city in Denmark situated by the sea in the heart of Jutland. Århus is at heart Denmark’s youngest city. Because every fifth of its inhabitants is a student at one of the city’s 25 educational and research institutions. This is clearly in evidence along the ’Vadestedet’ by the river, where there used to be a ford in the early days of the city and where the student population today frequents the many cafés and restaurants.
At the same time Århus could well be Denmark’s oldest city; evidence shows that there was a Viking settlement here as early as the 8th century. The Vikings settled by the mouth of the river – at the very spot where the Cathedral stands today. The ’Bispetorv’ square was also the centre of the town 1250 years ago, and in The Viking Museum in the basement of the Nordea Bank you are standing right next to the rampart which the Vikings built around Århus in the 10th century.
The municipality of Aarhus covers approximately 300,000 inhabitants with an additional 1,200,000 in the surrounding region of East Jutland; this makes it the second-largest region in Denmark. Aarhus has many activities to offer:
Big attractions in Aarhus include ARoS, Aarhus Museum of Art, Dokk1 cultural house, the Old Town, which is an open air museum and Moesgaard Museum, which is an archaeological collection in idyllic surroundings.

Shopping:
All it takes is one short stroll through Århus and you will understand why Århus has been selected Scandinavia´s number one shopping city.
Shopping areas:
Strøget
850 metres of fascinating shops tightly packed on both sides - some 100 shops in total. In this shopping paradise you can find anything your heart could desire. Århus' pedestrianised high street stretches from the Central Station to the Cathedral. Allow for at least a couple of hours, especially if you want to take in one or two of the adjacent pedestrianised streets.
The Latin Quarter
At the opposite end of town, beyond the Cathedral, lies the ‘Latin Quarter’ – Århus’ oldest quarter. The streets have historical names such as Klostergade (Convent St), Volden (The Rampart) and Borggade (Castle St) – and in the centre of the quarter lies the Pustervig Torv square as a small and cosy oasis, perfect for a break.
In the narrow cobblestone streets the beautiful houses form a creative mixture from trend-setting design shops to shops with small rooms with creaking wooden floors. Walk the picturesque pavements or enjoy a cappucino in the sun.
Frederiksbjerg
The main street in Frederiksbjerg is the M. P. Bruuns Gade street, stretching south from the Central Station to Skt. Pauls Church as its distinctive end point. The main focal point of this street is the ‘Bruun’s Galleri’, Denmark’s largest city-centre shopping mall with 90 shops on two levels and adjoining the Central Station. And the M. P. Bruuns Gade street is also where you will find the very best delicatessens in the city, such as the ’Kong Gulerod’ gourmet greengrocer's, the ’Bruunsgades Fisk og Vildt’ fishmonger's, and the ’Byens Ost’ cheesemonger's.
How to get around:
The Danes are very fond of their bikes. The streets usually have designated bike paths and the light signals even come in special, small bike-versions. If you are only here on a short note, you can use the so-called city-bikes, which you can get from different places in town – they are free, but you need to pay a deposit of kr. 20, which you insert into a coin slot. You are also welcome to borrow our bikes.
Busses and coaches: The yellow busses will get you around central and greater Aarhus.
Trains: You can travel all around the country by train (Danish National Rail Service: DSB).
