Our quaint little cabin is nestled away in a super peaceful and private forested setting beside the lake. Here you will enjoy beautiful views and a private dock. There's nothing like enjoying your coffee while watching a Shawnigan sunrise.
After a hike up Mt. Baldy or an adventure on the Trans Canada Trail, guests can enjoy a dip in the lake followed by an outdoor shower.
Our space is cozy and ideal for two or three couples, a small group of close friends or a family The property is not ideal for anyone with mobility challenges. While the cabin itself is one level, there are steps leading down from the driveway to the door and the driveway itself is sloped. The ground is not level in all places and there are many steps and stairs. Please be advised that in the colder months there may be ice/snow on the driveway, deck, dock and/or surrounding pathways.
Additionally, the half bathroom is accessed via the outdoors and is not heated nor does it have hot water. The bunkie has a brand new digital heater and the main cabin has a brand new gas fireplace to keep you warm.
Outside of the summer months, the majority of the patio furniture is put into storage. Chairs and the fire table will be placed on the deck.
We advise against drinking the tap water but it is fine for everything else. We will have drinking water available for you during your stay. Propane will also be provided.
There is an additional cleaning fee ($300 CDN) required for all exchanges.

We are located near Butler Bay located towards the southern end of Shawnigan Lake on a quiet residential road. Please note that our cabin is rural and in the fall/winter/spring changing weather can be unpredictable. Please come prepared and ensure your car has appropriate tires for snow/ice. We are just a short walk or bike to the Trans Canada Trail. Our one acre property is quiet and serene. You will not see anyone except for those that paddle or boat by. Please know that in the summer months Shawnigan Lake can be very busy/noisy with passing boat and sea doo traffic. You will have access to the entire cabin, outside area and dock. Depending on our schedule, we can be flexible with check in and check out time. Please ask.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE:

*The tap water is fine for bathing and cooking, but we would not recommend drinking it.
*We are on a septic tank so please only flush toilet paper and human waste.
*Please cook bacon in the oven and do not pour grease down the drain. It damages our highly fragile septic tank.
*The instructions for the fireplace are on the remote; hold down the listed buttons and point at the fireplace for at least 3 seconds. It will beep when it is turning on.
*While in the Shawnigan area we would recommend checking out Unsworth Winery and Restaurant as well as the Lakehouse for delicious food and drinks. Drumroaster Coffee in Cobble Hill is excellent as well.
CHECK OUT INSTRUCTIONS:
*Please take your garbage and recycling to the bins are at the top of the driveway in the green shed. Please make sure garbage bags are sealed tight and do not throw loose garbage into the bin. For more info on what can and cannot go in the blue bin, please see the infographic in the binder. Thank you!!!
*Please note that glass CANNOT be recycled. Please separate your glass and take it with you when you leave.
*When you leave, please ensure all thermostats are turned off (summer) or down (to 5C in winter), dishes washed, beds stripped and linens piled together for washing. Thank you!!
