Cosy, detached, Edwardian house in the centre of this historic and beautiful small city. Sleeps up to five in three bedrooms (two double beds and one single).
Being in town, you’ll have everything you need to hand without getting in the car, yet the house it tucked away in a quiet road. The house is detached, on two floors and 100 square metres in size. It was built around 1900 but is modern and comfortable inside, including a new bathroom (2022) and has some special features we think you’ll enjoy:
• The glazed dining room/sunroom, which makes the most of natural light.
• Books, ceramics, paintings and musical instruments hold clues to who lives there. You’re welcome to use the electronic keyboard and stack of music.
• A sunny garden with lawn, flower beds, apple trees, decking, table and chairs, barbeque and solar powered lighting. You can play badminton, if it’s not too windy!
• A small but well-equipped kitchen, as we love to cook and entertain. The kitchen was newly refitted in October 2022.
• Two sitting rooms, one by the kitchen with two comfy sofas, and the other with a 55” smart TV.
• A very comfortable large bed in the master bedroom (5’6” wide and 6’6” long) and another (5’ wide) in the second bedroom. A single bed (3’ wide) is in the third bedroom. Pillows are goose feather and down (or synthetic if you prefer) and bed linen is high quality. You will have a good night’s sleep.
• Parking is available in the road using a visitor's parking permit which we can give you.
• You’re welcome to use our two inflatable canoes. We also have beach and picnic kit, snorkels, guidebooks on local walks and one adult bicycle – you can rent others locally.
Please note, like many houses of this age, the bathroom is on the ground floor and the stairs to the upper floor are quite steep.

Our house is on a peaceful residential street, only ten minutes' walk to the heart of the city and its buzz of cafes, shops and restaurants, yet it's surprisingly quiet. Neighbours are friendly and there's a pub at the end of the road.

Chichester is situated between the sea, with Blue Flag beaches, and the rolling hills of the South Downs. Both are just minutes away by car. We are a 20-minute walk from the train and bus stations. By train, you can get to London Victoria (90 minutes), Brighton (60 minutes) or Portsmouth (30 minutes). The house is close to the A27 giving easy access to the local area and the whole of the south coast, including the New Forest, the Isle of Wight or Stonehenge, to name just a few of the many attractions.
Goodwood – an estate set in 12000 acres of the gorgeous countryside, just 10 minutes’ drive away. It’s world famous for motor racing and horse racing events plus a stately home with many works of art and an organic farm with a produce shop. https://www.goodwood.com/
Chichester Harbour – visit the many waterside villages, like Bosham, or use our inflatable canoes to explore the water – we can share our favourite locations with you. Or take a trip on a solar-powered boat or vintage oyster boat. If you’re interested in wildlife and waterfowl, you’ll enjoy places like Pagham Harbour.
West Wittering Beach – one of the best sandy beaches in the country is just a short drive away. Great for swimming in the summer (we can give you tips for avoiding the crowds) and walks among the sand dunes all year round. https://www.westwitteringestate.co.uk/
South Downs National Park – just a few minutes’ drive from our house will find you among the quintessentially English landscape of the South Downs, which stretch from the Hampshire border to the far side of East Sussex. Up on the Downs, you’ll get unforgettable views of Chichester, the Harbour and the rolling countryside, dotted with picturesque villages. A long-distance path is one of many footpaths criss-crossing the Downs, most of which are well signposted. https://www.southdowns.gov.uk/great-days-out/relax-in-nature/
Arundel Castle – Arundel is a neighbouring town which is a ‘must see’ for its quaint streets, boating lake, riverside walks and Wildfowl and Wetland Centre. Towering over the town is the gothic Arundel Castle which holds many events throughout the year. https://www.arundelcastle.org/
Fishbourne Roman Palace – on the outskirts of Chichester, see the remains of the largest Roman palace in Great Britain, including well-preserved mosaic floors. Regular events and activities for children take place through the year, to bring Roman life at the Palace alive. https://sussexpast.co.uk/attraction/fishbourne-roman-palace/
Portsmouth Historic Dockyard – hop on the train and in 30 minutes you can be at this fantastic museum of Britain’s naval history.
