Our large, casual, family-friendly home is located on a quiet residential block in midtown Savannah. Downstairs there is a nicely appointed eat-in kitchen, dining room, very large living room with piano and gas fireplace, and a very large playroom with wood burning fireplace, flat screen TV, Apple TV, and plenty of toys, board games and LEGOs. There is also a half bathroom downstairs and a laundry room with washer and dryer.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a queen sized bed and attached bathroom. There is one additional bedroom with a full sized bed, and one with a twin bed. These two rooms share an adjoining bathroom.
Out back there is a small swimming pool, with a comfortable lounging area, fire pit, and outdoor television, as well as a nice large dining table in the side courtyard.
We also have 3 indoor cats: BMO, Zan and Wesley.

Our home is located in the Ardsley Park neighborhood, an easy bike ride from the downtown historic district and a quick drive away from the lovely coastal marshes and beaches of the Low Country. Our neighborhood streets are lined with large live oak trees draped in Spanish moss, and dotted with parks similar to downtown's famous squares.
There is a grocery store within walking distance, as well as several excellent restaurants and coffee shops.
On Saturday mornings a farmers market is held in nearby Forsyth Park (1.5 miles) offering the best local produce, honey, meat, cheese, eggs and more.
The downtown historic district is a mere 2 miles from our door. There you will enjoy the city's architecture and historic buildings including the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low (founder of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America), the Georgia Historical Society (the oldest continually operating historical society in the South), the Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences (one of the South's first public museums), the First African Baptist Church (one of the oldest African-American Baptist congregations in the United States and a stop on the Underground Railroad), Temple Mickve Israel (the third oldest synagogue in America), and the Central of Georgia Railway roundhouse complex (the oldest standing antebellum rail facility in America).
Savannah's downtown area, which includes the Savannah Historic District, the Savannah Victorian Historic District and 22 parklike squares, is one of the largest National Historic Landmark Districts in the United States (designated by the U.S. government in 1966). Downtown Savannah largely retains the original town plan prescribed by founder James Oglethorpe (a design now known as the Oglethorpe Plan).
In addition to history and beautiful old buildings, Savannah is bubbling with new life and art thanks in large part to the Savannah College of Art & Design. The SCAD Museum of Art is a must for art lovers. The SCAD Museum of Art is a premier contemporary art museum established to enrich the education of SCAD students and to attract and delight visitors from around the world. Introducing new exhibitions every academic quarter, the museum showcases work by a range of highly acclaimed professional artists.
For a change of scenery, an easy drive down Victory Drive/Hwy 80 will take you out of the city and through the beautiful marshes of Savannah's islands. Less than 20 miles away you will reach the barrier island of Tybee, Georgia's easternmost point. There you will find the oft-photographed Tybee Island Light Station, and the Fort Screven Historic District. It is interesting to note that Tybee is one of the few locations where the U.S. Air Force dropped an atomic bomb—by accident (during a botched 1958 military training exercise). Thankfully the "Tybee Bomb" did not detonate - according to some reports it was never even armed with a fuse.
In addition to its beautiful beach, Tybee boasts a place in American history as well. During the Civil War, the Union Army placed siege batteries along the north coast of Tybee Island that aided in their successful bombardment and capture of Fort Pulaski on April 10–11, 1862. This was the first significant use of rifled cannons against masonry fortifications and demonstrated that masonry fortifications were obsolete. If you visit Fort Pulaski (and we definitely recommend that you do!) you can still see the damage done by the cannons along the eastern wall.
Ardsley Park is home to many families and professionals, and will make a wonderful home base as you explore our area.
