We have a 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home that can sleep 7-8 people comfortably. It is very clean, well-maintained, and kid friendly home located 20 minutes from Charlotte city center. Our house is spacious and comfortable and contains everything you need for a great vacation. Situated on a cul de sac in a quiet suburb, it has a large fenced-in back yard with a summer vegetable garden.
We have high-speed internet and WIFI, a top-quality music system, a huge hi-def flat screen television with BlueRay player and plenty of Playstation 3 video games (both for adults/teenagers and for younger kids.) The family room has a gas fireplace to cozy up to on chilly winter nights.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an open floor plan to the family room. We have an art studio and a music studio with a piano & guitar downstairs. The master bedroom has a king sized bed and master bathroom, a second playstation 3, and luxury hi-fi stereo. The other 3 bedrooms are next to another full bathroom. Two of the rooms have queen sized beds. The fourth bedroom can be made into a sleeping area with a trundle bed. We also have a portable crib and other baby items you are welcome to use.
There is an attached two-car garage, three bicycles, and nearly an acre (.4 hectare) of lawn shaded by large trees. There is a large deck in the back yard with a portable fire pit and gas grill- great for entertaining guests!
We have very nice neighbors all around us whom would be willing to give advice or help if needed. There are two neighborhood pools and two tennis courts.

Our neighborhood is in a quiet, safe suburb 20 minutes from downtown Charlotte. The small village of Matthews is family friendly and has many activities offered throughout the year, especially during the summertime (many of them are free!). We live aa 5 minute walk from a park with extensive walking/biking trails, disc golf, huge children's playground and a pond for fishing (you can even rent fishing poles for a minimal fee.) We also have two private pools and two private tennis courts in our neighborhood that you would have access to.
The city of Charlotte and the surrounding Charlotte Metro area has a wide
range of events for everyone and for any budget. There are world class art museums, two science museums, a planetarium, botancial gardens, major and minor league sports such as Panthers football, Eagles soccer, Knights baseball, world class golf greens, nature parks and museums, fabulous shopping, world class restaurants from every culture, a symphony, an opera house, many theatres, Carowinds amusement park, as well as a thriving night life.
Charlotte is also centrally located for taking day trips to the mountains (1.5 hrs by car) to Asheville, Native American Indian Cherokee Reservation and winter skiing, to the coast (2.5 hrs by car) to Wilmington to surf or eat delicious southern style Calabash seafood. One could also do short weekend trips to other major cities such as Atlanta, GA, Charleston, SC, and Savanna, GA.
Our home is also 20-40 minutes by car from two large lakes for fishing, kayaking and/or boating. And of course if one is a race car fan, Charlotte has the NASCAR hall of fame and the track. The following are several links to many activities around the area. I would be remiss if I forget to mention the U.S. National White Water Center, which has zip lines and ropes courses through the woods, White water rafting and kayaking, flat water Sup and kayaking, biking trails, and fabulous concerts!
