With Thanksgiving in the United States just around the corner, we want to share some heartwarming stories of gratitude from our members. Being part of HomeExchange provides many reasons to be thankful: for amazing travel experiences, beautiful homes, welcoming hosts around the world, a vibrant community, and a caring member support team.
We asked members on our Facebook groups why they are thankful for HomeExchange— here's what they had to say.
HomeExchange is here for you amidst COVID-19 uncertainty
"I am a long time member and can't wait to start traveling again, when it is safe. Thank you for everything you've done to support our efforts and for making it easy to deal with the current circumstances from an exchange perspective. At times like this I appreciate businesses that make the process simple and don't put up additional roadblocks, which you have done with flying colours. Way to go HomeExchange!" -Carmen
"I know some people in the Home Exchange community question value for money while we are unable to actually exchange. But I salute you all for working from home, keeping us up to date, tweaking the home exchange platform to make improvements, and staying positive. Thanks for all you are doing, and it feels good knowing you have a job to do. We look forward to arranging home exchanges again soon." -Val
HomeExchange makes family vacations possible
"We have reserved our home for a couple and adult daughter at our home in Tucson over Thanksgiving. I think it is great that some families are able to get together safely and we were able to shift our plans slightly to make it happen for them. We are going to have a small gathering with our son and his wife at their home. Personally, we are also very careful about safety issues and believe you can have both.... connection with those you love and safety...at the same time." -Rich
"Home exchanging has revolutionized our vacation experience. Not only has it allowed us to take longer, more inexpensive vacations, but the quality of our vacation is so far superior. Staying in someone's home and immersing yourself in their lifestyle/town/country cannot be compared to staying in an impersonal hotel or VRBO. We have been able to travel as a family to Europe (3x), Bali and 4 exchanges to San Diego, California, where we can visit our relatives but have our own home. Our boys were in French Immersion at school, and traveling and home exchanging in small towns in France was invaluable to their learning the language." -Kelly
"We have exchanged since 2008 and are looking forward to resuming travel once it is safe. HomeExchange has given us opportunities to travel more places than we imagined." -Jan
The HomeExchange community is warm and welcoming
"I am so thankful that Home Exchange exists as the community it creates is one based on trust and honesty. It reminds me that despite what one might hear on the daily news, no matter where you live, there are good and kind people everywhere." -Lisa
"We have done quite a few exchanges so that others can experience our oasis. We also have done several reciprocal exchanges and absolutely loved it and felt safe especially as far as Covid- 19 goes. One of the families that we hosted this summer has come through for me. I didn't know I would need a place to stay this coming Dec. when I hosted a family for points this summer. I have surgery planned and live 6 hours away from the hospital. Fortunately, they live nearby the hospital i am using and are able to host me for my recuperation after surgery!!!" -Emilie
