If you’re looking for a place to watch fireworks this Fourth of July, what better place to do so than the U.S. capital? While there isn’t an officially dedicated spot to watch the fireworks show, spectators can gather across the Potomac River, the Mount Vernon Trail, the Supreme Court Plaza, or the National Mall (as recommended by the National Park Service). The spectacle will begin at 9:09, with the fireworks being launched on either side of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Grab a blanket and your family and settle in for an evening of entertainment and celebration!
Boston, MA
Boston is home to so many significant sites of the American Revolution, it makes sense that the city would go all out to celebrate the Fourth of July. For the first time since 2019, the Boston Pops will return for their Fireworks Spectacular on the Charles River Esplanade. Audience members can watch the show either in-person or broadcasted live on Bloomberg TV and Radio and WHDH-TV Channel 7 from 8-11 pm EST.

Observe the nation’s largest fireworks display with the Macy’s Fourth of July celebration. A staple of NYC Fourth of July celebrations, this event has gone strong since 1976 (with the exception of the hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic). The night will begin with the fireworks show starting at 9:25 pm in Midtown Manhattan near the East River and will be followed by a performance of the national anthem by Young People’s Chorus of New York City and the United States Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus. If you can’t make it all the way to NYC to watch, you can tune into NBC for a televised look or stream the event on Peacock from 8-10 pm EST.
Nashville, TN
We can all agree that it would be strange if Nashville held a Fourth of July celebration that didn’t include music! Luckily, music lovers hum along while celebrating Independence Day during the city’s Let Freedom Sing! event. Featuring country singers and a fireworks show synced to a performance of the Nashville Symphony, spectators can either watch the show live or from the comfort of their own home by watching the livestream starting at 9:29 pm CST.
Carlsbad, CA
If you have kids that aren’t afraid of fireworks, a trip to Southern California for the Fourth of July may be in order to see Legoland’s Red, White, and BOOM! Fourth of July fireworks display! Included with the regular price for admission during the day, you and your family can hop on the park’s rides, and when the moon comes up, you all can gather in one of the many viewing spots and enjoy the fireworks show set to patriotic music. This event is fun for the whole family, and will keep your kids entertained all day until they can watch the fireworks at night!
