Celebrated the world over, the 17th of March marks St. Patrick’s Day which honors the Patron Saint of Ireland. And with that comes a host of events throughout the “Emerald Isle.”
The pubs are packed to the seams, people dress up in leprechaun outfits or don big green wigs and hats, and Guinness is consumed by the gallon!
Since this is a national holiday, it’s also a time for the people of Ireland to get together and celebrate. From local parades to big carnivals with street theatre, live music and dancing, there is something for the whole family to enjoy.
Here are some of the activities you can enjoy place throughout Ireland to make the most of your St. Patrick’s Day:
North West
Each year, the festival in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal continues to grow! Join the fun on the 17th of March as the city enjoys #greeningdonegal and you can join in on the music, dance and festivities.
Dublin
Experience the marvel of Dublin’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival for ‘Five Great Days’ It promises a city that is flourishing in stunning colour and flair. The chance to revel in the spectacular procession along O’Connell Street and through the centre of Ireland is not to be missed.
Midlands & East Coast
