Gina tells us about her family trip to California and their visit to Disneyland.
How did you find your exchange?
I contacted a member from the HomeExchange community.
What attracted you to this exchange opportunity?
The home was beautiful. The location was great. We wanted to take our daughters to Disneyland.
How was your arrival at the home?
We did a reciprocal exchange, so our hosts were already at our home when we arrived at theirs. They left us a detailed home guide with a list of nearby restaurants and attractions. The home guide was so helpful and had everything we needed to know. Through communicating with them before our exchange, they inspired me to create my own home guide.
What did you see or do during your exchange?
We went to Disneyland! It was a first for our two daughters and my husband. It was their favorite vacation to date. Our youngest daughter had a fever one of the days and it was so nice to have a home where we could rest and recuperate.
What is your favorite memory from the exchange?
My favorite memory from our exchange was hanging out as a family in the elaborate backyard garden. It had a beautiful fountain system that ran throughout. The garden was full of succulents and our host gave me permission to take some home. The setting was stunning and peaceful. Our girls loved exploring all the different areas of the garden.
How would you describe home exchange to your family and friends?
Home exchange is the best way to travel! It's so nice to stay in a home rather than a hotel, and you can't beat staying for free.
