My HomeExchange Story: "We appreciated so many things!"
Let’s take a break from the chill of winter and think back to the warm and sunny days of June and July. Last summer, Maren and her family took a trip to Boston, MA and experienced their very first HomeExchange. Read all about her fantastic family vacation and home swap!
What did you appreciate most about the home you stayed in?
We appreciated so many things! It was a very comfortable home and the host went through the extra effort to make us comfortable. The home felt very clean and was organized well. It had a great backyard that my kids loved to play around in!
What did you appreciate most about your exchange partner?
She communicated so well! Was very generous and quick to help if anything came up. She gave some nice recommendations. I feel like we will be friends after this!
What did you see or do during your exchange?
We had 10 days in Boston and tried to do it all. What a neat city! And it was nice to have so much time to be able to try and do it all: A baseball game at Fenway Park, a tour of the Freedom trail, a delightful day in Salem, and looking at all the mansions in Rhode Island!
What is one of your best memories or experiences from a home exchange?
If we paid for a hotel, we would have made the trip much shorter. But since we didn't have to worry about the expense of a hotel, we could make it a 10 day trip and really take our time and enjoy the town!
What would you say to your friends and family who are considering HomeExchange?
I would tell them how much we loved the whole experience!
What tips and tricks would you give to new HomeExchangers?
Respond quickly!
