In August 2022, Beatrice and her partner traveled to Tahoe Vista, in the North of Lake Tahoe. An avid home swapper, Beatrice has done over 25 exchanges since joining HomeExchange. She was kind enough to share her experience using HomeExchange to visit the great outdoors.

Great location on the North shore of Lake Tahoe, against the forest and right across from the beach with a private pier.
What did you appreciate most about your exchange partner?
Our hosts were very accommodating on the timing of our exchange. We had to cancel our winter trip, they let us move our dates to the summer.
What did you see or do during your exchange?
We love mountain biking, so of course we had to ride the Flume Trail (we ride it every year). It is the most beautiful trail ever. Gorgeous views of the lake and quality single track riding. We also really enjoyed SUP boarding on the lake.
What is one of your best memories or experiences from a home exchange?
I had so many great experiences, it’s hard to pick one. At the top are the ski resorts (Aspen, Mammoth Mountain) and our bike vacation in the Luberon in France. We also enjoyed our hosted stay in Utah.
What would you say to your friends and family who are considering HomeExchange?
HomeExchange opens so many opportunities to see new places and make new friends. Not to mention the cost savings on our trips. I travel twice as much now that I’m a member.
What tips and tricks would you give to new HomeExchangers?
I’d recommend posting plenty of pictures of your home and nearby attractions when creating your post. When contacting potential hosts, make it personal so they feel comfortable. Good communication is key during the exchange to ensure a good experience for both parties.
