My HomeExchange Story: Return to London

Carol tells us about her return trip to London.

How did you find your exchange?

I contacted a member from the HomeExchange community.

What attracted you to this exchange opportunity?

I hadn't visited London in more than 10 years. I was excited to go back and see the changes. Staying in Shoreditch was great. I could see firsthand how this east end neighborhood has become trendy.

How was your arrival at the home?

The host was very kind to meet us near the coach stop. Kati then accompanied us to the apartment. She explained everything. Before our arrival, she had sent a word doc giving lots of information: how to reach the neighborhood with public transport, restaurant and pub suggestions, her favorites.

What did you see or do during your exchange?

There is so much to do and see in London. On our first day we went to the Sky Garden. It was a 15 min walk from the apartment. It was a good way to start our visit. Then , every day, we caught the double decker bus number 8 to reach the city center. From there, we visited a different museum each day.

What is your favorite memory from the exchange?

Going to the Strand to see the Michael Jackson tribute, "Thriller" was one of the best memories from this trip.

How would you describe home exchange to your family and friends?

HomeExchange is a wonderful way to travel ! You can live like a local.
