How did you find your exchange?
I contacted a member from the HomeExchange community.
What attracted you to this exchange opportunity?
We were excited about the location. The homeowners were extremely welcoming as well during the process. The location and the house checked every box for us.
How was your arrival at the home?
We met them at their house as they lived in another flat in the same building. They told us so much about the surrounding area. They gave us food when we got to their place. They also provided us with travel brochures etc for the immediate area.
What did you see or do during your exchange?
We stayed local on some days and other days we visited surrounding areas. We have two young children so at times we also elected to stay in and have a quiet day. We purchased local foods and enjoyed cooking in the house. We also spent a night with the host family and we talked and had an amazing time.
What is your favorite memory from the exchange?
Our favorite memory from this exchange was when we visited the Calanques near Marseille. We drive there, got some food, and sat on the beach. It was such a tiny but beautiful beach we loved it. We took the opportunity to go snorkeling while we there as well.
How would you describe home exchange to your family and friends?
We have shared this experience many times and we just let them know that everything was completely amazing.
