This week, we would like to share with you the journey of Etienne, a loyal French member of HomeExchange. Accompanied by his family, Etienne spent 15 days in Denmark and completed two home exchanges during this Danish adventure.
Before leaving on his holidays, Etienne had spent some time contacting and speaking to HomeExchange members trying to organise exchanges for his trip.
The First Exchange
After several messages and emails exchanged, Etienne was eventually successful in his quest to find Danish members who would welcome him, and an exchange was firstly finalized to Copenhagen in the Osterbro district of Denmark.
Here are some pictures of the Scandinavian style house which is quite charming we must admit!
After he and his family had settled into their new abode, they started exploring their surroundings; the Nyvahn neighborhood with its beautifully colorful houses, the Lego store and all the toys that were manufactured in the country, the town hall and generally exploring the Osterbro area. The family also ventured into the areas of Copenhagen, Sweden, Roskilde and Hillerod Castle.
The Second Exchange
On leaving Copenhagen, they traveled north to Jutland in the Northwest of Denmark. Their new dwellings were in a small town called Ulstrup where they had organized a reciprocal exchange. They were so impressed when they arrived at the idyllic wooden house, a typical Danish cottage on the edge of a forest – what could be better?
The area was close enough that they could travel to places like the Silkeborg lakes, Arthurs and explore the River Gudena (the longest in the country)!
Etienne and his family couldn't end their holiday without visiting the town of Ebeltoft, Randers Zoo and the mythical Legoland – they were tourists after-all!
Etienne is a loyal HomeExchange member, who has participated in many exchanges, both reciprocal and non-reciprocal, to numerous locations. Denmark was another country ticked off his list!
Thanks to Etienne for his photos and comments but especially thanks to him for taking time to tell us about his experiences. If you feel like sharing your recent HomeExchange experience with us, dont hesitate to contact us.
